Frequently Asked Questions
CollectionBay, as the name states, is an anchor for collectors to bid or buy a collectible item they miss in their collection. It is also a commission-free website for multi- sellers.
Normally anyone can register as a seller after receiving approval from the admin, but for technical reasons, we will limit selling to us with the option for users to consign with us
There is no age limit to use our website. You just need to sign in via your Facebook or Gmail account or fill in the registration form
Registration to the website is easy, and once registered as a bidder/buyer, you can enjoy bidding in any current auction or buying from the buy-now items.
The only fee to be paid when someone sells on CollectionBay is the yearly subscription fee, with no commission on any sales. But that is delayed for at least a full year from now. We now only charge 15% on the total selling amount when consigning with us (from the seller).
The system sends an email to both the seller and the buyer, but it is advised that both parties contact each other’s afterward to complete the transaction, especially since CollectionBay does not charge commission on sales.
Every auction has its time countdown and can be followed by registered users. There are two ways of auctions:
- Proxy auction with no reserve price: meaning the bidder can place a maximum bid that he/she is willing to pay for the collectible item on auction and the system will overbid for him/her that is if he/she is not willing to follow the auction till its last seconds.
- Proxy auction with a reserve price: meaning if a bidder places a bid and a second bid on the same item, he will overbid himself until the reserve price is met.
Please note that all auctions are not subject to any buyers’ premium only hammer price plus shipping fees to the seller and all in United States dollars.
those are items in the store that can be bought directly but some items with quantities available in the store could be bought on separate invoices because they can’t be shipped together (ex. Books, heavy items above 1.5 kg)
- No item will be shipped until the transaction payment is fully received
- Shipping is always done by registered mail or DHL that could be traceable
- It is up to every seller to clearly state the shipping method
- We advise Buyers to ask the seller about the shipment method if it is not clearly stated
- Shipping will be added to the final invoice upon checkout
- In case the item was not as described and as pictured we will gladly refund payments. The seller agrees to pay the charges and sends the returned item back at his cost. This item should not be damaged or manipulated. The return notice should be sent to us on the same day of the arrival of the item to the buyer.
- The buyer demanding a refund must pay for the shipment of the return of the item. That is why always ask for more details before buying/bidding.
